... and it's still running.

I guess the combination of what you did (redoing some changes and not doing some changes) and what I did (seperating the island creation thread in a seperate process) made it work again.

What actually caused the trouble will probably stay a secret.

well let us not look into teh mouse of a gifted horse.
But I was very confident that the VS12 changes was bogus because the engien was chashing on the Linux build and I could no figured out what it was untill you reported the crashes in window as well.
now I can make 2.12 public an move on.
BTW for 2.13 I am making the engine work in Thread safe from the application side, so if you have a muticore server you can probably put some of the newton worlds in separate threads and the will work better and still be deterministic if you use a single therad per world.
