Lost in Newton source code

Postby ledahut » Fri Feb 25, 2011 10:19 am

I am not friendly with visual studio so I would like someone enlighten me about how files/directory are organized for newton.

coreLibrary_200> OK: contain source code and projects for newton.dll lib...
coreLibrary_300> OK: contain source code and projects for newton.dll lib...

application/alchemedia> newton editor actually WIP
application/blenderPlugin> :?: (I know blender is a 3D tool)
application/media> Resources for newtonDemo and NewtonTutorial I guess.
application/msPlugin> :?: Maybe a plugin for alchemedia
application/newtonDemos> OK: demos source code and projects for newtonDemo.exe
application/tutorials> OK: Old deprecated tutorial

packages> secondary output directory for projects (newtonDemos,coreLibrary_200,coreLibrary_300).
packages/thirdParty> :?:
packages/d* and packages/projects OK: contain source code and projects for newton.dll lib...

Is that right?

wit the execption "of tutorial being deprecated", you got is correctly.
The tutorials are the very simple demos for people who start with the engine and as far as I they all works
The newtonDemos project is the application you can open in visual studio and it will buidl everything.

core_200 is the stable engine
core_300 is newton 3.0 but is it nor ready yet. (when I was fixin teh arcive I made a mistake and I copied some file form 3.00 into 2.00 I have bing fix then
it is not big deal because by enlarge they are equal or have diffrent names, but oen that are diffrnet were mess up, but it si all fix now.
Thirdparty are external projects liek tinesxm, lua, collada, glew, etc that I use for the tools, demos, and other stuff but not with the engine, the engine does not have dependencies on anything;

in the packages folder there is a solution that builds all of the libraies and dlls for people using libraies and DLL.
