Building for Android

Postby Slick » Tue May 06, 2014 1:42 pm

The wiki doesn't seem to have any information. I have used CMake successfully for Windows but I don't think it applies to Android.

How do I build a static set of libraries for Android? I assume I use NDK but there is such a lack of information.

Any help appreciated.

Hi there,

yes, you have to use the android NDK to build and link the library. Check out this post on SO: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2943 ... ndroid-ndk

Thanks for the reply. I don't see any *.mk files for the Newton libraries in the SVN tree. Am I supposed to make my own mk file or am I just missing finding them?

I have to admit, I haven't look at it just yet. Newton isn't integrated into our Android build chain at this point. We do primary development on iOS, OSX and Windows.

If you can't find any builds files in the SVN and you can wait until I have integrated it into our build system, I could share them with the community. However, making them is quite easy if you know your way around makefiles.
