Yesterday I installed the latest Xcode and iOS SDK from Apple.
I have decided to abandon the idea of using the iOS simulator for now as it still gives the same warning and errors that I last reported even though the GUI shows "Simulator - 4.2 ! Debug" so the base SDK is iOS 4.2. I suspect that it has something to do with the fact that the iOS simulator only runs on a Mac that uses the Intel processor chip.
I was able to get the newton_iPhone tutorial_101 to build and run on my iPad when the GUI shows "4.2 ! Debug" and the base SDK still shows to be iOS 4.2.
Can I assume that all the Newton code I need is included in the newton_iPhone folder of the Newton SDK ?
By the way, I appreciate all the responses you have given to my posts on this subject.

Now that I think I understand how to get the Newton tutorials to work on an Apple iPad, I would appreciate a little guidance on the following items:
What is the minimal set of Newton files contained in the NewtonSDK that I need to include in my iPad project to provide access to the entire Newton Engine capability as described in the documentation?
Is it enough to include the .a archive files and the .h header files in my Xcode project folder?
What about resources, libraries, and frameworks?
Do I have to perform any sort of build of Newton library components from source files as a preliminary step to the overall build of my project?
What will I have to do to update my project to a later version of Newton?
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide.

Hello Julio,
Thanks very much for your answer to my last post.
It appears that the various errors I was encountering was the result of trying to include too much of the Newton SDK in my Xcode projects.
By starting with a very simple project that includes the files you mentioned in an Xcode project, but does not yet use them, I can build and run either the iPad simulator or the iPad device.
Do you know if it is possible to identify the "iPhone" bare bones functionality in OgreNewt and OGRE in a manner similar to the information you gave me for Newton? It would be helpful to be able to start Xcode projects with a combination of the functionality contained in these three tools.
