Change a newton demo

Postby ant-mi » Thu Apr 22, 2010 9:03 am

Hi all, I'm an absolute starter here and i want to see how these demos work and make some changes to create something of my own. So, I downloaded NewtonWin-2.19 and I tried to compile separately the demo with the spinning cones (PrecessingTops.cpp) in dev++ but so many errors appeared. I would appreciate it if someone can tell me what to do to make an exe file that will run and do what PrecessingTops does but without the windowed environment and by having only one or no cones at all. Thanks a lot in advance!

Wow! a lot of reading ahead... Thanks anyway!
One more question. As I was trying to build the project it gave me the error that I miss some cpp files that should be contained in a folder named "physics". Can you provide this folder to me? Thanks a lot, I really appreciate your answers.

One last question. I found what I wanted in tutorial 201. The problem is that I tried to compile the project in Visual studio 2003, 2005 and 2008 in windows xp and windows 7 but nothing seems to work... Any idea? Thanks for your time.

Is was made with VS 2003, so it should work with all versions of visual studio starting with VS2003.

just clip clean, and Build it should work.
The Tuotiral says everythong you need to do to strat you own project.

I keep hearing that people can not build the tutorials, and I think it is because they do not set the enviroment variable where to search fo the newton libraries
In my systme I ste ot to this
    NEWTON_HOME=C:\Newton_200\NewtonSDK\sdk

Basically you nee to downloads the latest Newton SDK and set an enviromnet variable name NEWTON_HOME to point to wher eteh newton engoen an dSDK are in you disk.
