Mac version ... where are the libraries?

Postby Bird » Tue Jul 16, 2013 2:29 pm

Hi Julio,

I can't find the output files after compiling the libraries with Xcode4. For example if I compile the dContainers project and then search the Newton distribution for libdContainers.a it's no where to be found. In fact I can't find it anywhere on my HD. I tried hard-wiring my own absolute path in the "Build Products Path" setting and I still can't find it.

I'm totally baffled.

Oh yes I has that problem, before and I found out that xcode place on a path with a incripted file name.
It was har to find it.

I believe you have to set that in xcode global setting.
there is a path for libraries, I am at work now but it you do no find it I tell you tonight.

I can't seem to figure out what setting to change in Xcode, so if you can remember I'd love to hear how. If you can do it, it would be nice to have all the complied libraries in one folder inside the Newton distribution to make it easier for us to link to.

Ok this is what you do.

open xcode and on the main menu click xcode menu

then select preference

in the proference panel select locations

then you will see Dearived Data dropdown list menu,
select "Relative" and then on the edit input control you can type the name of the folder relative to the Build folder when the data generated by the build to be placed.
I typed DriveData, but I believe it can be anything

those are global setting on xcode, they do not get saved in the project file.
