trick to make a car drift.

I wonder if these thicks will translate to the vehicle engine module.
he can even drift a front wheel drive car, in theory the vehicle should support all those thick

here are some instruction how to achieve drifting, I will try to add some code assistance for that
because it is hard to make all those with a keyboard, or a game controller, it ne some king of scripted series of steps. I see if I can get it

The biggest problem is how to take the information form those video an converted to measurement that can be use for a auto steering system.
basically an automatic controlled of regulator that manipulate the steering the gears and the cloth
the throttle and the brake to find the suit set of variables when the drift happen and can be sustained.
I found this paper, and it giving and idea, using the bicycle model to get ideal variables an dteh use then as if they were correct.

basically the objective of the controller to achieve a car drive like the one on the right side of the image. why that look so cool I do no know but is really does.

awesome. I wish we'd be using your controller already in the engine, then I could give this a test. We're still using our ray-cast car approach. IIRC I implemented this in a hackish approximation that when the lateral forces are too high on the tires, they loose grip/friction. This actually looks ok in certain situations, but you cannot perform drifts as in other games, where the behavior is usually "press the handbrake and steer left/right" this behavior still needs to be added.

the kind of drift that I want to achieve is the one I call artistic drift

that can not be done by using brakes, instead it needs high power rear wheel drive.

That is a very big challenge, but I will take as the test to see how controllable the vehicle model is.
finding the suit spot of parameter to achieve that is no easy.

I am not the only one having a hard time perfecting drifting? 8)

lol, they also appear to be using soft body physics :D
